New year, new blog.

I felt compelled to just start all over.  I don't know why, but it's one of my quirks.  Not to say that I'm going to start all over next year, but there was just something about the last two years that left a really bad taste and I just had to... start all over.

So here's to the new blog!  Cheers!

Robert & I went to the Beaver Meadows Nature Preserve out in North Java today.  It was his idea...  We were being lazy this Sunday and kept asking each other... "What do you want to do today?"  During Buffalo winters, there's really not much to do.  I suppose there's always a TON to do, but I think you know what I mean.

It wasn't terribly cold.. actually it was very "tropical."  43 degrees Fahrenheit!  We went traipsing through the woods... didn't see much, though.  I was hoping to see a fox... or something!  Something, anything...  but all we saw were black capped chickadees, a crow, and a single squirrel in a distant tree.  It's almost disconcerting.

I did get to snap some photos of some trees.

And a little screech owl in a cage at the visitor's center.

We'll have to come back in the spring or summer time!!
